Join our free, online, inhaler workshops!
Did you know that over 70% of people don't take their inhalers correctly (Maricoto et al, 2020)? This can lead to an incorrect dose or even a missed medication dose!
Taking medication with an inhaler might seem easy, but the technique for each inhaler is different and requires specific steps.
During our free, online, Inhaler Workshops we will:
Teach the correct way to take your medication
Review cleaning, care and storage of your inhaler
Check your inhaler technique
Answer your questions about inhalers
We are offering Inhaler Workshops on Friday afternoons from January until the end of March. We will be covering these devices: Ellipta, Turbuhaler, Respimat, MDI & Spacer (or AeroChamber), Diskus, and Handihaler/Breezhaler.
Each workshop is one hour long.
Join a workshop for each inhaler that you use. Be sure to bring your inhaler to the workshop so that we can check your technique. You will not need to take a dose during the workshop.

Jan 12th: 1pm Ellipta, 2pm Turbuhaler, 3pm Respimat
Jan 19th: 1pm MDI & Spacer, 2pm Diskus, 3pm Handihaler/Breezhaler
Jan 26th: 1pm Respimat, 2pm Ellipta, 3pm Turbuhaler
Feb 2nd: 1pm Handihaler/Breezhaler, 2pm MDI & Spacer, 3pm Diskus
Feb 9th: 1pm Turbuhaler, 2pm Respimat, 3pm Ellipta
Feb 16th: 1pm Diskus, 2pm Handihaler/Breezhaler, 3pm MDI & Spacer
Mar 8th: 1pm Ellipta, 2pm Turbuhaler, 3pm Respimat
Mar 15th: 1pm MDI & Spacer, 2pm Diskus, 3pm Handihaler/Breezhaler
Mar 22nd: 1pm Respimat, 2pm Ellipta, 3pm Turbuhaler
We have once again joined forces with the amazing, pre-clinical, Respiratory Therapy students at Thompson Rivers University to bring you these free inhaler workshops.
To sign up for an Inhaler Workshop, you will need to join our online Poplar Community. It’s free, and you’ll find more resources and free events there too! We are your online respiratory community.

Once inside our Poplar Community, visit the Inhaler Workshops tab by clicking here. Scroll to find the workshop for the type of inhaler you use. Note, there are several dates and times available for each inhaler type. Pick a date & time that works best for you. Then, click on "Going" in that Inhaler Workshop event. Now you are registered and will receive an email on the date of the workshop.
