Inhaler Workshops are back!!
We have once again paired up with the very keen and freshly trained students from the Respiratory Therapy program at Thompson Rivers University to bring you a full series of Inhaler Workshops.
When was the last time you had your inhaler technique checked?
If it’s been more than 6 months, you’re due for a refresher!
Good inhaler technique takes practice and an expert to observe your skills and provide feedback. Each inhaler has a specific set of instructions and a unique way of using it in order for the medication to reach your lungs properly. Poor technique can lead to less medication reaching the lungs and more unwanted side-effects.
Did you know that over 70% of people don't take their inhalers correctly (Maricoto et al, 2020)? This can lead to an incorrect dose or even a missed medication dose!
During our free, online, Inhaler Workshops we will:
Teach the correct way to take your medication
Review cleaning, care and storage of your inhaler
Check your inhaler technique
Answer your questions about inhalers
We are offering Inhaler Workshops on Thursday and Friday afternoons from January until the end of March. We will be covering these devices: Ellipta, Turbuhaler, Respimat, MDI & Spacer (and Aerosphere), Diskus/Inhub, and Breezhaler.
Each workshop is one hour long.
Join a workshop for each inhaler that you use. Be sure to bring your inhaler to the workshop so that we can check your technique. You will not need to take a dose during the workshop.
