Join this meaningful conversation with Jennifer Zorn-Ford, Respiratory Therapist, as we explore the concept of a Palliative Care Approach.
Jen started working with Interior Health Authority as a Community Respiratory Therapist and became involved with Palliative Care by attending their weekly rounds. She was encouraged to participate in further palliative training given her role working with people with chronic respiratory illness. Her deepened understanding and appreciation of the palliative program emphasized the importance of removing the stigma and changing the narrative of the term "palliative".
Jen believes that it is essential to educate those living with chronic lung disease (and their caregivers) of the supportive and empowering benefits the palliative program can provide in becoming an active participant in their quality of life and goals of care discussions.
Living with a progressive condition can be scary. This Chat & Chew is aimed at putting the focus on living and on what is most important in our lives.
